AAA: Angelenos Paying $4.68 For Gasoline

(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles County’s gas prices are holding steady. The Automobile Club of Southern California says local drivers are currently paying an average of four-dollars 68 cents for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline. That’s seven-tenths of a cent lower than last week’s average and a penny-and-a-half less than last month’s price at the pump. It’s also an increase of $1.50 over last year’s average in L.A. County. Gas prices in the region have fallen four cents since hitting a record high of four-dollars 72 cents on November 27th. A Triple “A” spokesman says — if crude oil prices remain around 70-dollars per barrel — motorists should continue to gas prices drop. Experts say crude oil costs account for slightly more than half of gasoline prices.
