(Los Angeles, CA) — The COVID-19 vaccination deadline is approaching for Los Angeles city employees. The city reported around 79 percent of its workforce is completely vaccinated. However, that leaves nearly 12-thousand workers who are seeking an exemption, have just received a first dose or have not registered in the city’s vaccination compliance program. Mayor Garcetti’s office reported that nearly three-thousand employees have been placed on some type of leave for failing to comply. The mandate requires that city workers be fully vaccinated or exempted by December 18th.
