(Burbank, CA) — U.S. Disney parks are including a Black Santa Claus this year for the first time ever. Both Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida have included a Black Santa in both meet-and-greets and after-hours Christmas parties. A Disney spokesperson told CNN Santa is represented differently in local and regional communities around the world and the diversity will be reflected at both parks. Disney is the latest company to include portrayals of a non-White Santa, with a recent Oreo cookie commercial featuring a Black Santa.
