(Los Angeles, CA) — Most restaurants in Los Angeles can no longer give out napkins and plastic utensils unless customers ask for them first. As of yesterday, all restaurants with more than 26 employees must get rid of their single-use plastic utensil dispensers. And, restaurants can’t include complimentary utensils or napkins with takeout orders unless a customer specifically requests them. The new rules are designed to reduce waste and costs for businesses. The city believes the move can save businesses between three-thousand and 21-thousand-dollars annually.
