(Washington, DC) — A key Democratic senator says holding the bipartisan infrastructure bill hostage won’t get him to support President Biden’s social spending bill. West Virginia’s Joe Manchin said he won’t support the larger bill without understanding how it impacts Americans and the economy. Manchin claimed he has worked in good faith with top Democratic leaders including Biden and he won’t negotiate in the public eye. The White House responded to Manchin by saying the bill creates jobs and is fiscally responsible.
