(Sacramento, CA) — Recent data from polls suggest Democrats may have some things to worry about come the midterm year. Data obtained by NBCLX shows turnout fell by nearly half for voters ages 18-29 during the California Recall Election, compared to the 2020 presidential election. The drop in voters under 30 is 48-percent, while more voters who are over 60 did vote, with only a 12-percent drop in turnout. Recent polls suggest Democrats are suffering because of frustrations young voters have over the nearly frozen pace on Biden campaign promises involving social programs, climate change, and civil rights.
