Rate Of Home Buying Increases Among Latinos In California

(Sacramento, CA) — Home buying among Latinos is going up in California. According to data from the Census American Community Survey, homeownership for Latinos has increased about eleven-percent since 2018, when the rate was slightly over 44-percent. Part of that spike is due to lessons learned from the Great Recession in 2008 when the foreclosure rate among Latinos was high. Many home buyers are now seeking out professionals to help them avoid risky loans and other issues when buying real estate. Also, Governor Newsom’s budget has a 100-million dollar fund to help first-time homeowners with down payments.
