(Madison, WI) — The Wisconsin Assembly is considering a bill that would require all Wisconsin schools to teach cursive writing to elementary students. One of the bill’s sponsors is also a former teacher. Opponents say teaching cursive writing would take time away from more modern communication skills, like learning to type on a keyboard.
