(Washington, DC) — The National Institute of Health director says the FDA approval of COVID booster shots is a big deal. Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Dr. Francis Collins says based on data in the U.S., it’s clear the effectiveness of COVID vaccines are waning. He says the government’s response to roll out booster shots for certain groups is based on that data. Collins defended President Biden’s earlier call for booster shots for the general public by September 20th. He noted Biden was listening to the advice of top physician’s in the nation.
