(Las Vegas, NV) — More states are legalizing sports betting and that’s leading to a bonanza of bets to start the NFL season. Location services company GeoComply says there was a 126-percent increase in bets made during opening weekend of this year’s NFL season compared to last year. New Jersey led the way along with Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, and Illinois. All of those states have NFL teams that played on Sunday. More than two dozen states and Washington, DC allow fans to bet on sports. California is expected to have as many as three sports betting propositions on the November 2022 ballot
