Study: Turning Off Web Cam Makes People More Productive. No Kidding.

(Tucson, AZ) — A new study says keeping the web cam off during remote meetings makes people more productive and less tired. Researchers from the University of Arizona reported taking away video lets people stop concentrating on their own faces and instead be more engaging. The study shows individuals feel like they’re being “watched,” so they hyper-focus on what expressions they’re making or how they’re being perceived. The researchers said workers should be given the option to turn their camera on or off to avoid “video burnout.”
