(Los Angeles, CA) — The long battle over coronavirus restrictions between Los Angeles County and the defiant Grace Community Church may finally be over. Yesterday, the county agreed to pay 400-thousand-dollars to the church to settle a lawsuit. The state will pay another 400-thousand-dollars to the church in Sun Valley that repeatedly held large indoor services that went against coronavirus gathering rules last year. After local officials cited the church several times and tried to get a judge to issue an injunction, it sued the county and the state, saying the rules were violating its constitutional right to religious freedom. L.A. County has already paid nearly one-million-dollars in legal fees to further its case against Grace Community Church.
