(Washington, DC) — The House committee that is stacked with Democrats, which is investigating the January 6th Capitol attack is demanding records from numerous companies including Facebook, Google, and Twitter. They and others are being asked to produce records on many topics. They include the Democrat’s charge of spreading of misinformation, domestic violent extremism, and any foreign influence during last year’s election. Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson is giving the companies that also include Reddit, Snapchat, and YouTube two weeks to comply.
This “investigation” comes as the police officer who shot and killed unarmed Ashli Babbitt on January 6th has outed himself. Lieutenant Michael Byrd told NBC News he pulled the trigger as a last resort. Byrd said he “hoped and prayed” no one got through the doors he was keeping rioters from entering. The officer says he had to do what was needed to “save the lives” of himself, members of Congress, and his fellow officers. He did not deny that Babbitt had no weapon. Curiously Byrd was cleared by the Capitol; Police Department, though he may face a $10M wrongful death civil suit.
