(Undated) — Bats may be associated with all things spooky, but one researcher says we should view bats in a different way: the key to healthy aging. A scientist from University College Dublin has been analyzing bat blood of the longest-living bats and found that the winged-creatures have the ability to repair damaged genes as they age, something that goes away in humans as we get older. According to the scientist, he “firmly believes” the animals hold the key to us having better quality of life as we age. He added that a bat-mimicking drug potentially could be available within the next ten years.
