(Sacramento, CA) Police in Sacramento have a suspect in custody on unemployment fraud and other violations. Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert says Allison Illahi is charged with 40 counts of fraud and five counts of drug possession. Illahi allegedly bilked the state’s Employment Development Department of over 530-thousand dollars. Authorities found a notebook containing the identities of around 30 victims used in filing fake unemployment claims. In addition to a large amount of narcotics, police also located a supply of parts related to firearms trafficking. Schubert says these illegal activities are fueling violent crime in California.
