Supreme Court Ends Federal Residential Eviction Moratorium

(Washington, DC) — The Supreme Court is ending the federal moratorium on residential evictions due to the pandemic. The decision was six-to-three with the conservative majority siding to end the moratorium. Imposed by the Biden Administration, the moratorium was challenged by a coalition of landlords and real estate trade groups. The justices allowed a request by the challengers to lift the moratorium that was supposed to run until October 3rd.
