(Washington, DC) — A new report says the FBI has found little evidence that the January 6th Capitol attack was the result of an organized plot. Law enforcement sources tell Reuters that the FBI at this point believes the attack was not coordinated by far-right groups or prominent Trump supporters. Federal officials have arrested over 570 alleged Capitol rioters, but a senior official said most of those are “one-off cases,” and there was no “grand scheme” to storm the Capitol. The report said some members of far-right groups like Oath Keepers and Proud Boys did plan on breaking into the Capitol, but had no serious plans about what to do once they got inside.
