(Sacramento, CA) — Lawmakers at the California State Capitol are approving a guaranteed income plan for residents who qualify. The bipartisan agreement paves the way to disperse monthly payments to pregnant women and young people who were in the foster care system. Senate Republican Leader Scott Wilk said the statistics of foster care kids impoverished “are devastating.” Officials in California’s 58 counties will administer the program and set the dollar amount of payments, which could be between 500 to one-thousand dollars a month.
