(Minneapolis, MN) — Several Minneapolis attorneys thinks it’s likely Derek Chauvin will get between 20 to 25 years when he’s sentenced later today. The former police officer was convicted of killing George Floyd last year by placing his knee on the man’s neck for more than nine minutes. Defense attorney Joe Friedburg says he believes Judge Peter Cahill will not give Chauvin more than a 30-year prison term. Sentencing is set for 1:30 p.m. today.
