(Sacramento, CA) — Don’t bother stopping — just yield at the stop sign — if you’re peddling a bike in California. That’s the intent of a bill now under consideration in Sacramento that would allow bicyclists to treat stop signs as yield signs. Supporters believe the new rules would be safer for cyclists, who could get through intersections more quickly. But opponents say it sends the wrong message, teaching bike riders not to obey or respect stop signs. Assembly Bill 122 has already passed the state Assembly and now heads to the Senate.
Did you ever see a bicyclist get a ticket for running a stop sign? Now you NEVER will
