(Los Angeles, CA) — Kroger plans to close at least two grocery stores in L.A. because of the city’s hazard pay. The Ralphs grocery store locations will close in May. This comes after the Los Angeles City Council made it a requirement for certain larger companies to pay their workers five-dollars more per hour amid the pandemic. The Cincinnati-based company claimed paying their employees more was financially unsustainable.
