CA School Board Resigns After Slamming Parents In Virtual Meeting
(Oakley, CA) — The entire board of a California school district is resigning after they were heard criticizing parents during a virtual meeting. The board members of the Oakley Union Elementary School District thought Wednesday’s meeting was private, and were complaining about the criticism they were getting from parents on social media. Their comments suggested that parents wanted in-person learning for their children so they could get their babysitters back while they sit at home smoking medical marijuana. Eventually they realized the meeting was public, but by then someone had recorded it, and it was posted on YouTube the next day. On Friday, the four board members submitted their resignation.
