Two Billboards Urge San Francisco Tech Workers To Move To Miami
(San Francisco, CA) — Two billboards are urging San Francisco’s tech workers to think about relocating to Miami. The San Francisco Chronicle says the messages were paid for by two tech-friendly Miami residents, one a co-founder of Reddit and the other an early investor in Uber and Air-b-n-b. The messages are mock tweets from Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. The Miami Herald reports the mayor was not part of the planning, but did sign off on it. Some tech companies have complained about the high cost of living and COVID-restrictions in California. However, data shows only a handful of companies have left for business-friendly states like Florida and Texas. Some have left San Francisco, but remain in the Bay Area.
