(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles Unified School District officials are calling for teachers and other staff members to be granted coronavirus vaccination priority. L.A. County school employees will be eligible for shots on March 1st, but so will police, emergency responders, childcare workers, food service personnel and agriculture workers. Yesterday, the LAUSD opened its first exclusive vaccination site at the Roybal Learning Center in downtown L.A. Superintendent Austin Beutner and other officials who were on hand believe teachers being vaccinated is the ticket to reopening schools. They want a guaranteed number of doses so that can happen as soon as possible.
