(Anaheim, CA) — The Anaheim City Council is throwing its support behind a bill that calls for large California theme parks to reopen sooner than currently scheduled. As it stands, large theme parks like Disneyland cannot reopen until the county they\’re located in advances to the least-restrictive Yellow Tier of the state\’s reopening framework. This means Disneyland can\’t reopen attractions to guests for at least several more months, or until Orange County averages one new coronavirus case per 100-thousand people. The bill calls for larger theme parks to instead reopen with the same standards as smaller theme parks, meaning case rates could be a bit higher.
