(Los Angeles, CA) — California is in desperate need of more firefighters. After reliance on firefighting inmates fell through due to the ongoing pandemic, the state is looking for more long-term stability. Governor Newsom is pushing for a one-time 143-point-three-million-dollar budget addition to add more hand crews. The money would add 30 part-time and full-time hand crews.
