Jamie Tarses, Trailblazing TV Executive, Dead At 56

(Los Angeles, CA) — The first woman to lead a broadcasting network is dead. Jamie Tarses passed away today at age 56 due to complications from a cardiac event last fall. Tarses became the president of ABC Entertainment in 1996, after successfully being a comedy development executive at NBC. Tarses is also known for being a part of the launch of TV shows like Friends, Frasier and other popular sitcoms.
