Army Changing Grooming Standards For Female Soldiers

By

(Washington, DC) — The Army is redrafting its grooming standards for female soldiers. Starting next month, women in the service will be allowed to wear additional hairstyles in uniform, including ponytails, braids and buzz cuts. Another new policy allows for earrings to be worn with their combat uniforms, a move called “extremely groundbreaking for the U.S. Army” by a service spokesperson. Right now, female soldiers can only wear earrings with service and dress uniforms. A uniform policy board met last month to recommend the changes, which are scheduled to take effect February 25th.
