More Defense Against COVID– Anti-Cancer Drug Could Possibly Treat COVID-19

(San Francisco, CA) — An anti-cancer drug could potentially treat COVID-19. It’s called Aplidin  and it’s extracted from a type of ‘sea squirt’ found in Spain. A University of California-San Francisco science team says it’s nearly 30 times more effective than drugs currently used to treat the virus. The research team tested the drug against the new variant and says it worked. Phase 3 trials are being planned in Spain and the U.S.
