(Los Angeles, CA) — New coronavirus case numbers are starting to stabilize in Los Angeles County after an unprecedented surge during the holiday season. The average amount of new cases reported each day is down 30-percent this week. The county has seen about ten-thousand-500 cases this week, compared to more than 15-thousand last week. However, infection rates are still significantly higher than two months ago. There were also less than ten-thousand new cases reported both yesterday and Wednesday, marking the first time that has happened on consecutive days since the beginning of December. Hospitalizations have also dropped seven-percent in the past week.
