(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles County is lifing restrictions on cremations because of the record-high coronavirus death rate. An air quality restriction that limited the number of cremations facilities could perform in a month has been suspended. The death rate in L.A. County is now double what it was before the pandemic began. This has led to a backlog at hospital morgues, funeral homes and crematoriums. The exemption will last for at least ten days.
