VP-Elect Harris Resigning Senate Seat Monday
(Washington, DC) — Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is set to resign her Senate seat on Monday. Her resignation comes just two days before she becomes the first woman in American history to serve as Vice President. She’ll also be the first Black American and the first South Asian American to serve in that role. Harris has been a senator since 2017. California Secretary of State Alex Padilla has been picked to replace her in the Senate.
