(Sacramento, CA) — California public health officials have ordered clinics across the state to stop using a specific batch of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine after several people suffered severe allergic reactions. Diana Cannizzo is one of those people who ran into trouble after getting the vaccine.
Sunday night\’s announcement renders 330-thousand doses distributed to 287 clinics unusable. State Epidemiologist Dr. Erica Pan says the allergic reactions were limited to one community vaccination clinic, and a \”higher-than-usual\” number of people needed medical attention within 24 hours of receiving their shot. Officials say less than ten people had adverse reactions, and there\’s no word on what their exact symptoms were. The doses in the affected batch were all delivered between January 5th and 12th.
