CEO Blake Hall of ID.me, which flags fake benefit claims, said it’s because California is a big state. EDD has dispersed over 100-billion-dollars in jobless benefits, and that pot of money is a tempting grab for criminals. Hall said foreign criminals from Russia and Nigeria are still trying to hack EDD’s online system.
