(Sacramento, CA) — California Governor Gavin Newsom says the state is preparing for possible unrest surrounding the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris next week.
He says California is taking important steps to protect public safety at the State Capitol. Thursday, Newsom signed an order authorizing the deployment of one-thousand California National Guard troops across the state to protect critical infrastructure. The Governor and his team are also coordinating closely with local, state and federal law enforcement in assessing threats and sharing intelligence.
