LA COUNTY COVID TEST CHANGE
Public Health officials are getting rid of the Curative COVID-19 P-C-R tests at L-A County pop-up testing sites after an FDA warning of “false negatives”.
Curative was only responsible for about 10 percent … roughly 24-thousand … of the tests the county administered between mid-December and the beginning of this month, but those false negatives may have led people to believe they weren’t contagious when in fact they were. The county is changing to a different test this week.
COVID-DODGER STADIUM
COVID-19 testing operations at Dodger Stadium are wrapping up today (Monday)—so that the site can ramp up to become a VACCINE DISTRIBUTION center by the end of the week.
The LA Mayor’s office, who last week defiantly supported the Curative tests that the County is dropping says the site will be able to vaccinate up to 12-thousand people per day when it is fully up and running. This shift in resources will temporarily reduce testing capacity in L-A County, but it will more than triple the number of daily vaccines available to be dispersed to Angelenos. There has been widespread criticism of the slow rate at which the vaccination is being given out.
