Some sex offenders can qualify for early parole. The California Supreme Court ruled yesterday that inmates who have been convicted of nonviolent sex crimes may be eligible for early parole consideration as part of a ballot measure approved by voters four years ago. The ruling could allow parole consideration for about 20-thousand inmates. Former Governor Jerry Brown, who backed the measure claims he never intended it to cover sex offenders.
