(New York, NY) — One-time presidential candidate Andrew Yang is setting his sights on a different office. CNN says he’s contacted a number of local leaders about running for mayor of New York City. Yang gained notice during his presidential run for advocating a universal basic income, paying each American 12-thousand-dollars a year to cover their basic needs. He raised 40-million during the campaign and his supporters called themselves the Yang Gang. The former tech executive started a nonprofit called Humanity Forward, which is testing his universal basic income idea to see how well it works.
