California Governor: Nails, Waxing, Hair OK for Outside Work. Increase Of COVID Metrics Declining

Brazillian blowouts and French nails are back. Governor Gavin Newsom says hair salons, nail salons and barbershops can now operate outdoors under new state coronavirus guidelines. Those regulations ban hugs and handshakes at hair operations. Face masks are required for customers and workers. Businesses must have an outdoor reception area. For manicurists, only one worker at a time can operate a nail station. Gloves and hand sanitizer are required. Body waxing, massages and threading are also allowed outdoors

(Sacramento, CA) — California Governor Gavin Newsom says key coronavirus metrics are increasing at a slower rate than in recent weeks. The governor said the state’s 14-day positivity rate is holding at nearly seven-and-a-half percent, but the seven-day average is down. Although hospitalizations and ICU admissions are up 16-percent and 12-percent respectively in the last two weeks, Newsom said the rates of increase are declining. Yesterday, California reported nearly 69-hundred new infections. San Francisco County was added to the state’s monitoring list. Thirty-three of 58 counties have been on the list for at least three straight days.
