Over 70 no need to go to DMV to renew your DRIVER’S LICENSE

(Undated) — The California Department of Motor Vehicles is giving a one-year extension to residents aged 70 and older. The extension applies to noncommercial licenses that would have expired between March First and December 31st. Typically, drivers would need to visit a DMV field office to renew their license, but in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision delays the requirement for at-risk populations. Additionally, commercial licenses for all drivers expiring between March and September are being extended through September 30th. DMV encourages all state residents to use the Service Advisor on their website before visiting an office in-person.
