Federal Appeals Court Orders Judge To Dismiss Michael Flynn Case

(Washington, DC) — An appeals court is dismissing the case against Michael Flynn. A three-judge panel from the DC Circuit Court of Appeals issued their decision today despite the former National Security Adviser twice pleading guilty to the charges against him. President Trump’s adviser was accused of lying to the FBI. Earlier this year, the Justice Department decided to drop charges against Flynn after he tried to change his plea, but District Judge Emmet Sullivan in a highly unusual move, didn’t allow that. Flynn was charged for allegedly lying to the FBI about his contacts with a Russian ambassador in the days before President Trump was sworn in.
