Vanessa Gutierrez was arraigned in court Monday on one charge of hit-and-run resulting in death. It stems from a November twenty-first pedestrian crash near Olympic Boulevard and Lake Street. In the grainy footage, a Tesla can be seen striking Emilio Perez in the middle of the street. The video lead to a witness who allegedly saw the suspect covering the damaged car. Police say the 35-year-old suspect probably would not have faced any charges if she had just stayed on the scene.
