A lawyer for actress Lori Loughlin and her husband are seeking FBI records as part of their defense in the college admissions scandal.

According to court filings, the attorney believes the FBI documents will prove the couple thought their payments were legitimate donations. Prosecutors argue that the pair gave 500-thousand dollars to bribe USC officials. Their defense thinks FBI interviews with admitted mastermind Rick Singer will show their clients thought the donations were allowed. The LA Times says the lawyer has been unable to get those FBI documents.
