The wind-driven fire is burning across dry mountains in Santa Barbara County. About 600 firefighters are battling the flames from the air and the ground. It’s hoped that rain forecast for this week will help crews get the upper hand. That part of Santa Barbara hasn’t burned for almost 30 years. Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency for the area.
The Cave Fire is now burning over 42-hundred acres with no containment.
