Standing in front of the red-tagged house that was hit by the small plane, National Transportation Safety Board official Samantha Link says they’re working to remove the wreckage.

”It will then be moved to a secure location for the investigative team to lay out the airplane and examine it more closely.”

Link says witnesses saw the single-engine plane flying low and slow when it hit the house and burst into flames. Luckily, people in the home are not hurt.  She says crews recovered a parachute that was part of the plane’s emergency system.

”We are working on determining on if that may or may not have been a deployment by the pilot or just a deployment from the impact.”

It’s still not clear what caused the crash.
