The Tick Fire is currently at 43-hundred acres. 40-thousand people from Canyon Country and Santa Clarita remain evacuated. Six homes have burned down and another 15-thousand are still in danger. Now, Los Angeles is getting help from Sacramento.

California Governor Gavin Newsom is declaring a state of emergency. That frees up state resources and helps cut red tape. Los Angeles officials are also declaring a state of emergency on a county level.

The smoke advisory is in effect through Saturday in northwest LA County…the eastern and western San Fernando Valley…the Santa Clarita Valley and the San Gabriel Mountains. Try to avoid physical activities and stay indoors.
