Red Cross Opening Shelters For Evacuees

CJ with the Red Cross is the director of the evacuation center at the Sylmar Recreation Center and says about 12-thousand homes in the area are under a mandatory evacuation order.  The Saddleridge Fire exploded overnight to about 46-hundred acres, and fire crews say it’s zero percent contained.

 

 

 

EVACUATION CENTERS

Sylmar Recreation Center, 13109 Borden Ave., was accepting residents and small pets. Evacuated large animals can be taken to Hansen Dam.

The Granada Hills Recreation Center, located at 16730 Chatsworth St., was at capacity and “not able to accept any more residents,” the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a tweet.

Mason Recreation Center, set up at 10500 Mason Ave., Chatsworth, was at capacity.

Northridge Recreation is set up at 18300 Lemarsh St., Northridge.
