(Huntington Beach, CA)  —  Police are investigating a threat made to a theater showing the new Joker movie in Orange County.

The threat shutdown the Huntington Beach theater Thursday night around 5 o’clock.  It’s unclear how the threat was made, but theater officials deemed it credible and canceled all showings but the theater is showing the movie today.  Meanwhile the Los Angeles Police Department says there will be more patrols around theaters showing Joker this weekend, even though they haven’t come across anything credible.  The FBI is also monitoring chatter about the movie online.
