A clean up is taking place near the spot where several homeless encampments went up in flames this summer.

This week, crews from the City of Los Angeles are working to clean up the Haskell Creek section of the Sepulveda Basin. Back in July, that part of the San Fernando Valley was hit by a brush fire that swept through several homeless encampments. Propane tanks exploded inside the tent city, but thankfully, no one was hurt. It’s illegal to camp in the basin, and officials are on guard this week because Santa Ana winds are expected to trigger a higher fire danger.
