Conservative activists believe the law is unconstitutional. They filed suit Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The 2018 law, known as SB 826, was signed by former Governor Jerry Brown. It requires corporate boards to have a least one woman by the end of this year. In two years, the law mandates boards with five or more members must have two women and larger board will have to have three.
